About the consultant
Knut Wattum graduated from Warwick Business School in 1992. He has a Master degree in Industrial Relations with specialisation in people management and business psychology. He is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.
Knut Wattum is an experienced HR professional and he has 15 years relevant work experience including 10 years of HR leadership. He has also been a company board member representing the employer in one of his previous HR Manager positions. He has been in charge of management development and recruitment & selection in Scandinavia, and his previous HR manager positions from 1997 – 2005 included establishment and development of HR as a role and a function in large companies.
Knut Wattum has a broad HR experience from all the various HR areas. He has been supportive on strategic HR issues as well as operational decisions, and he has contributed to the development of the HR function in several companies within different industrial sectors, such as IT, logistics and energy. He has been involved in the work with employee representatives in implementation of changes, and he has a diplomatic and knowledgeable way of handling employees at all organisational levels.
He possesses both updated theoretical HR knowledge and work experience which he applies successfully in handling all HR areas. Since autumn 2007 he has been responsible for the HR field in a takeover process within the energy industry. These tasks included reorganisation and restructuring of the organisation and the HR function, as well as harmonisation of employment issues during the merger process. Strategic HR areas such as development and implementation of people policies, establishment of a company based Work Environment Committee, and accomplishment of an overall competence review were carried out by Wattum in establishment of the new company. Wattum also worked with evaluation of company values, employee satisfaction and benefits through work environment survey and follow up actions, as well as conducted salary reviews in 2008 and 2009.
Wattum is confident in his senior consultancy role and he makes work decisions based on knowledge and experience. He has been involved in project audits looking at project management and application of company Management Systems. He is also offering his opinion and sharing his knowledge on HR issues by lecturing courses, such as recruitment & selection and change management.
